Beau-Site, which translates to 'beautiful site,' is located behind Grand Cru Château Calon-Segur on one of Medoc's highest peaks and offers breathtaking views of the Gironde River.
Chateau Beau Site was reclassified as a Cru Grand Bourgeois Exceptionnel in 1966 after being initially designated as a Cru Bourgeoius Superieur in 1932.
The château was purchased by the Castéja family in 1955; they also own Château Trotte Vieille and Château Batailley.
The vineyards at Chateau Beau Site have an average age of 35 years and cover around 100 hectares. One of the oldest underground cellars in the Médoc, Beau-Site's dates back to the 18th century and offers ideal maturation conditions for a wine that is vinified with the same care and skill as a Grand Cru Classé.
