Mirabeau winery is located 13 kilometres from the historic village of La Garde-Freinet and in the commune of the Golfe de Saint-Tropez, approximately an hour from Nice airport and an hour and a quarter from Marseille, making it ideal for international travel and experiencing the glamorous French Riviera. Its unusual location in a secluded portion of the Plaine des Maures National Nature Reserve means it's close to Provence's gorgeous villages, picturesque landscape, and coastline.
Domaine Mirabeau is located in the newly designated Notre Dame des Anges subregion of the Côtes de Provence AOC. The terroir encompasses 3,900 hectares of vines intertwined with the landscape of umbrella pines, cork oak trees, and chestnut forests typical of the Plaine des Maures, a biodiverse habitat.
The 20-hectare estate has 14 hectares of vineyards (mostly grenache, cinsault, and rolle) and has a Mediterranean environment with scorching summers, strong sunlight, and an easterly wind. This portion of Provence is markedly distinct from the rest of the region, which is dominated by low, soft-leaved 'garrigue' scrubland, with evergreen'maquis' scrubland and stony terrain produced from pink sandstone and sandy soils.
