Deep cherry-ruby wine. It has a fruity nose with plenty of character, prune, cherry jam, tobacco, eucalyptus. On the palate it is full-bodied, soft and plummy, with some gentle spice and mocha notes. Puglia Primitivo's characteristic ripe, fruity, richness and sweetness is very much present on the palate. A touch of Italian bitterness on the finish, but overall very easy to drink.

This amazing southern Italian wine was labelled Anniversario '62 to celebrate the year when Cantine San Marzano was established (1962). It is also one of the heaviest bottles I've ever seen in my life 1.2kg of hefty glass. You are never sure when it is empty. In the glass, Primitivo displays a deep ruby colour. Great southern Italian red. Very lush and fruity yet not overly tannin.
