The Botter family's wine business, which dates back to the early 1900s has enjoyed continuous success, including Caleo, a more modern project.
Farmer by birth, Carlo Botter left the Venetian countryside and started dealing in wines. He used the local canal system to get his casks to the top hotels in Venice and the area surrounding the Piave. With the money he earned, he started building his own cellars and purchasing the greatest land that was available.
The Botters began exporting goods outside of the Veneto during the 1950s. They started exporting their own wines to other European nations in the 1960s. Since then, they have increased their production to include Sicilian, Abruzzi, and Puglian wines, including the stunning, value for money range, Caleo Wines.
