The Duke of Chambord allegedly fell in love with this location's natural beauty in 1810 and decided to build his hunting estate there. He gave it the name Chateau L'Eperon from the French word for a rooster's spur since he was an avid lover of rooster fighting.
Each bottle of wine produced by the Chateau l'Eperon is adorned with the representation of the rooster, a symbol of France.
When an English aristocrat bought Chateau L'Eperon in 1981 and made it his primary house for the last few years of his life, it underwent a thorough restoration.
The Château has been making wine since 1830.
The vineyard has held an HV3 (High Ecological Value - Level 3) certification since 2018.
Chateau L'Eperon's current owners fell in love with the estate and bought it in 2021. They came together for this initiative because it was started by their close friends and family members who come from different nations and helped them realise their goal.
A new era in Chateau L'Eperon's history began, fusing a distinctive setting with a rich past and global experience.
