With a history dating back to 1647 and a past in which generations have protected a way of life connected to land and wine, J. Chivite Family Estates is the family's iconic winery.

Chivite is one of Spain's oldest wine dynasties, first established in 1647. The legacy of the winemaking tradition has been passed down through eleven generations of the family.

Chivite has developed during this time, responding to changing customer and market expectations, and creating a brand that is associated with wisdom, grace, and expertise.

The Ebro Valley was home to the earliest ancestors of the family in the sixteenth century. They came from Cibitz, a French "Navarra Baja" town decimated at the time by the Calvinist Wars, which sparked a large-scale migration movement towards southern Navarra.
