The Manolesakis vineyard is located in the little town of Adriani Drama in Thrace, Greece and Eastern Macedonia. Since 1989, when the region's first vines were planted, the Manolesaki family has been involved in viticulture and winemaking, which is an important time in the industry's development.
One of the first to reestablish viticulture in this ancient region was George Manolesakis Winery, who, with the assistance of his son Stavros Manolesakis, personally oversees all aspects of the estate's vineyard cultivation and wine production to ensure its preservation.
The primary objective of this work was to have the vines give the usual features of the local microclimate, so they have the utmost respect for the laws of nature while simultaneously optimising the viticultural and production process.
The winery's facilities were finished in 1998, and a modern wine production facility covering an area of 1500 square kilometres was built in the middle of a 200-acre, privately owned vineyard on the Adriani mountainside, a few kilometres outside of Drama.
In 2004, additional crops of native Greek grape varieties such Malagousia, Moschato Muscat of Alexandria, Assyrtiko, and Agiorgitiko were produced as a result of ongoing research.
In 2008, the Greek grape varieties Moschomavro and Limnio were added, and in 2014, the Pinot noir variety. The vineyards also grow Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah grapes.
