Arnaldo Caprai's family business began in 1971, when the textile entrepreneur bought 12.5 acres near Montefalco. In 1988, ownership went to Arnaldo's son, Marco, who began the mission to cultivate and promote the Sagrantino grape, which has been grown in the Montefalco region for almost 400 years.

The winery is now the main producer of high-quality Sagrantino di Montefalco, a wine made solely from this local variety.

In addition to its dedication to quality, Arnaldo Caprai is known for its commitment to environmental, economic, and social sustainability, as well as being champions for Umbrian wines.
