Between the 1950s and the 1990s, Lucien Lurton, who had become one of Bordeaux's biggest and wealthiest landowners, continued to rise. He gained notoriety as a renowned connoisseur and defender of the best terroirs by defending numerous property plots that gravel dealers sought after while the grapes were facing serious difficulties.
