Giulio Bertrand, an Italian, fell in love with South Africa and the Cape Winelands many years ago. In 1992, he retired from his textile career, relocated to South Africa, and purchased Morgenster, a farm with a 300-year history.

Federica and Vittoria, a mother and daughter combo, are now carrying on the history of excellence that their father and grandfather established decades ago. They are inspired by their inherited enthusiasm for wine and olive oil to not only honour their farm's past, but to push it into a new era of innovation.
