In the village of Paderne, there is an ancient property called Reguengo de Melgaço. The current owners bought the building, which was commissioned by Queen Leonor in the 16th century, and planted nine hectares of vines on two different vineyard plots.

They immediately established themselves as a benchmark Alvarinho producer after releasing their first vintage in 2001.

Although Alvarinho has long been popular among locals, it has only recently gained popularity among customers outside of the country of origin.

Alvarinho exhibits its full aromatic richness and superb fusion of fresh fruit and floral notes in the Moncao subregion of Vinho Verde.
