The Valdobbiadene region's winemaking heritage has a significant impact on the history of the Ruggeri winery. Indeed, Case Bisoi or Bisol Houses are visible on old maps of the region, precisely in the centre of the Cartizze neighbourhood.
Eliseo Bisol owned a modest winery in Santo Stefano as early as the middle of the 19th century, and his son Luigi constructed another one in Montebelluna in 1920. One of the original vintners in Valdobbiadene was Luigi. Together with his cousin, Giustino Bisol established a new winery in 1950. They chose the surname Ruggeri as the name of their business.
Early on, Ruggeri was one of the few sparkling wine-focused producers in the Valdobbiadene area. Since then, the business has been led forward by Giustino's son Paolo and granddaughter Isabella with the same pioneering spirit. In 2017, Ruggeri joined Rotkäppchen-Mumm, a prosperous collaboration built on a shared vision, confidence in shared values, and a shared dedication to delivering ever-higher quality services.
