Pago de Carraovejas was founded in 1987 when Jose Maria Ruiz, the country's top sommelier, was searching for a top quality wine, elegant enough to pair with his suckling pig signature dish.
Since that time, every vintage sells out on allocation. The winemaker is Pingus' winemaker, Patricia Benitiez, who receives help from the illustrious Javier Ausas, from Vega Sicilia.
