A very attractive Syrah, with an exciting bouquet of lilies, cloves and cream Delicate and nuanced on the palate, it's more than a little reminiscent of Pinot Noir - not heavy, but with lots to unfold and savour It could in theory last 5-10 years, but it's so irresistible now that it probably won't get the chance The label does not say so due to South African wine regulations, but this is in fact a single-vineyard wine from a cool site in Hemel-en-Aarde The local climate means that ripening happens extremely late every year: around two weeks after all of Meinert's other fruit The highly extended growing season results in the wine's beautiful delicacy and fabulous intricacy of flavour Superb!

Generous berry fruit flavours are found on the ripe and enticing nose The palate is medium bodied, soft and dry with a good concentration of blackcurrant fruit and spicy overtones

This wine displays a vibrant, deep plum colour with a dark brick-red edge The nose is packed with berries and spice with a darker background of black olive and freshly turned earth There is a luscious plum, blueberry, blackberry and raspberry core with secondary notes of clove and nutmeg As the wine opens more delicate nuances are revealed, with floral notes appearing on the nose and palate The tannins add a subtle grip and enticingly long finish This wine is named in honour of d'Arenberg's principal, Francis d'Arenberg Osborn, who is universally known as d'Arry d'Arry's original blend, first launched some four decades ago, was as is it appears today - a blend of Shiraz and Grenache grown on d'Arenberg's low yielding, 19th century vineyards

Distinctive aromas of ripe plum and pepper spices, mouth-filling sweet red-berry flavours and gentle tannins characterize this wine A touch of Viognier was co-fermented with the Shiraz for the aromatic lift it gives to the wine, which emphasises the berry fruit and spice aromas on the nose The American oak barrels give a hint of vanilla spice and contribute to the smooth silky tannins

Love Grass grows wildly in the vineyards surrounding the winery During vintage, the sticky, long stemmed flowers of the Love Grass affectionately attach themselves to the vineyard workers' socks They even get caught in the coat of the winery dog, Coco, and have to be brushed out by chief winemaker, Chester Osborn The additional varieties in this wine cling to Shiraz the same way that the Love Grass does, making a complex and food friendly Shiraz that is fresh and lively, black and red fruits, pepper, clove and cinnamon Ensure you take a moment to savour this wine and its complex mix of fruits evolving from tight and linear at first to rich, dark and exotic

Possibly the record-holder for the most 'best in show' accolades of any of our wines, this has aromas with irresistible appeal: black cherry and elderberry, lent complexity by subtle green jalapeno and smoked chipotle notes On the palate it is rich-textured, intense and spicy, with a distinctive herbal, minty, wintergreen element From two vineyards which experience hot, sunny days and cold nights during the growing season, leading to an extraordinarily expressive, characterful wine

With appealing herby-peppery aromas and only the most subtle seasoning of oak, this is silky-soft with lovely perfume, nuances of basil and clove, and an irresistibly vibrant, juicy cherry and blackberry fruit character This has a surprising level of complexity, with an iron-like 'mineral' character behind the fruit, spice and herb elements Perfect companions, Tempranillo provides aromatic lift and a textural element to the soft richness of the Shiraz There is no new oak here, to allow the fruit to really sing
