Beginning at the turn of the 20th century, while his father Gaetano Accordini was working as a share cropper, Stefano Accordini's narrative began.
After share cropping was outlawed in the 1970s, Stefano realised a lifelong desire by buying his first vineyard, "Il Fornetto," in the Valley of Negrar and constructing a winery.
He made Valpolicella wine for the neighbourhood market up until 1982, but his sons Tiziano and Daniele saw the company' potential and expanded the vineyards, bought more barrels, and improved the manufacturing processes. They were now prepared to enter international markets.
They first purchased 10 hectares in Cavolo, in the Valley of Fumane at 550 metres above sea level, in the new century, which gave them the possibility to make better quality wines. This was done in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico region.
The new winery, which has 25 hectares of vine-covered land, was finished in 2011 and is the tallest winery in the Valpolicella Classico region.
The fourth generation of Stefano Accordini's business is still family-run, and it continues to produce wines with a distinctive flavour and aroma that are typical of the soils and climate of "the mountain" on which the grapes are grown and vinified. These wines are created with Valpolicella's history, traditions, and passion!
