Just 8 miles from Brighton in the heart of Sussex's countryside stands Albourne Estate, a family-run vineyard and winery with a view of the picturesque South Downs.

Albourne Estate produce award-winning still and sparkling English wines in small batches exclusively from grapes that they sustainably grow themselves.

Alison Nightingale and Nick Cooper, a husband and wife combination who founded Albourne Wine Estate in 2010, have quickly made a name for themselves as an innovative and quality-driven English wine producer at the vanguard of this quickly expanding sector.   

After a career in marketing that included work for large multinational corporations worldwide, Alison took a step back in 2004 and finished a degree in viticulture and enology at Plumpton College while raising two small children. She then began looking for a location to start their own vineyard in England.   

After a protracted search, they discovered Albourne Farm, which was 5 minutes from their home in Hurstpierpoint and had the ideal site, geology, and structures.
