North West Greece's Amyndeon is where Alpha Estate is situated. It was created by two visionaries, Bordeaux-trained winemaker Angelos Iatrides and second-generation vine grower Makis Mavridis. One of the most gifted winemakers now working in Europe is Angelos.

The 120 hectares of privately held single block vineyards on this immaculate estate in the cool hills of Western Macedonia use the most advanced vineyard practises and winemaking technologies to create wines of the highest calibre from French and native Greek varieties.

On the Amyndeon plateau in North West Macedonia, the vines are organically farmed in private vineyards. The grapes come from the 'Turtles' and 'Hedgehog' subregions, respectively.

The 'Hedgehog' subregion is located at an altitude of 690 metres and faces Lake Petron and Voras Mountain in the north, while the 'Turtles' subregion is situated at an altitude of 660 metres and faces the Voras Mountain in the northwest.

The distinctive microclimates present in the vineyards are influenced by the mountain and lake. After a green harvest and meticulous selection, the grapes, which are planted at a density of 3,700 vines per hectare, produce 36.5 hectolitres per hectare. The limestone-covered sandy and sandy-clay soils provide excellent drainage.
