North-eastern Italy's Ancilla Lugana is situated on the beaches of Lake Garda. The property has two vineyards: Cadellora in Villafranca di Verona and La Ghidina in Lugana di Sirmoine, the centre of Italy's production of some of the most delicate white wines.

Third generation of women to administer this estate, Luisella Benedetti, who inherited the land from her mother, who in turn inherited from her mother, Ancilla.

Ancilla was a remarkable, vivacious woman who laboured in the fields and rose at three in the morning every day to fulfil her passion of making wine.

In order to take over the family firm in the early years, Luisella abandoned her profession in banking, following in the footsteps of her grandmother.
