Roberto Anselmi is widely considered as one of Italy's most prominent white winemakers. He dropped out of university in 1975 to work on his father's winery. His grandpa was forced to sell the family's vineyards in the 1940s and 1950s, so his father's winery relied on grapes purchased elsewhere.

Anselmi's objective was to repurchase the family's vineyards, therefore he began acquiring hillside vineyards planted densely. He currently has 70 hectares of vines planted at 6000 vines per hectare and trained to Guyot or permanent cordon, as opposed to the region's far higher yielding double pergola technique. His Garganega (white variety of Soave) clones are the less productive, higher quality ones.
