Bernard Defaix, the fourth generation of a vine-growing family, began with 2 hectares in 1959. During this time, a method for protecting the vineyard against spring frost was devised. As a result, vine-growers could be certain of a minimum yield every year, and they began to build stable trade markets.

Bernard's two sons have been in charge of the domain for about twenty years.
