The 2018-founded winery Bideona (formerly known as Badiola) is located in the heart of Rioja Alavesa and offers a fresh take on Rioja wines by placing more of a focus on the vineyard's location than on barrel ageing.

The Bideona vineyards are located on the Sierra Cantabria's slopes, mostly in the vicinity of the communities of Villabuena, Leza, Laguardia, and Baos del Ebro. Each terroir produces wines with a unique personality. Many of the vines were planted in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, and despite their great age and limited production, they still produce concentrated juice with a distinct flavour.

Alavesa differs from the rest of Rioja due to its high altitude, old vineyards, and soils with a high amount of limestone that are planted with vines. The goal of winemaking is to produce extremely clean, fresh, and well-textured wines that accurately represent their place of origin.
