Milanese businessman Walter Contato developed Cà Maiol in 1967 on the southern banks of Lake Garda. The Turbiana vines grow and yield their purest expression in the Lugana DOC, a particular region that benefits from both the land and the lake.

The Cà Maiol approach is centred on protecting indigenous varietals and the environment. Green land management techniques are utilised to preserve sustainability, and the winery is gravity-fed.

Cà Maiol joined the Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo in 2017, which is run by four brothers, the third generation of the Marzotto family, who uphold ancient traditions while integrating contemporary agriculture, technology, and nature to coexist together.

The 110 hectares of the estate are the fertile custodians of a wine with a distinct local identity and modern style since they have invested in the winery and vines. Gambero Rosso named Cà Maiol Winery of the Year in 2021.
