A 26 acre estate known as Campo alle Comete may be found at the base of Castagneto Carducci on the Etruscan River, not far from the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The vineyard gets its name from historical references; it refers to a time when the Bolgheri region was delineated by fields called 'Campi' and by stars and the occasional comet called 'Comete' at night. Campo alle Comete has an innovative air that captures the essence of the location, which is full of history, but there are some excellent wines hidden under the humourous labels. 

The visionary is Antonio Capaldo, who bought the property in 2016 because he felt drawn to this new adventure. He makes wines from international varieties in search of a fresh means of expression.

The Campo alle Comete Wines labels were inspired by a painting by renowned Italian artist Nicoletta Ceccoli that represented Campo alle Comete as "a place suspended between reality and imagination."
