The Santarelli family, the undisputable kings of Frascati wine, is largely to blame for elevating Frascati to the status of a titan among volcanic wines. One of Italy's best white wines, their Frascati DOCG is a deserving winner of the Tre Bicchierri award.

Giulio Santarelli bought the first two hectares of the estate at Castel de Paolis in 1974, and in 1977 he began buying additional parcels of land close to the pre-existing vineyard.

The estate gradually expanded to its current size of slightly over 10 hectares while continuing to produce fresh, delicate, and unique wines from this exceptional volcanic terroir.
