One of the biggest Champagne manufacturers in the world and a well-known Champagne house is Moet et Chandon, or Moet. The business was founded in 1743 by Claude Moet and has a Royal Warrant to supply champagne to Queen Elizabeth II. Today, it owns vines covering more than 1,000 hectares, producing 26,000,000 bottles annually.

A Moet brand called Dom Pérignon is named after a Benedictine monk who was a significant pioneer in the champagne industry. Dom Pérignon's first vintage, from 1921, wasn't made available for purchase until 1936. As a vintage Champagne, Dom Pérignon is only produced in the best year from grapes that were picked that same year.
