Pol Roger Champagne is a favourite of Sir Winston Churchill and several British Army Regiments. The ancestors of Pol Roger, who founded the company in 1849, now own and operate Pol Roger.

The first growths were released by Pol Roger's Champagne House in 1853, which he founded in 1849. He founded the Maison in the town of Epernay in the Champagne region as a champagne maker from the village of Ay.

The House annually produces non-vintage cuvées such as Pure Brut (no added sugar), Brut Réserve, and three other vintage wines such as Brut Vintage, Blanc de Blanc, and Rosé Vintage, as well as the prestige label of the house, the Vintage Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill.
