The first vineyards of Château Figeac were reorganised in 1862, which is when Château de Valois was created.

The eight hectare vineyard was held by Bernard Leydet in 1962. He gradually expanded the Pomerol plots and focused on raising the quality through better vineyard management practices and cellar investment.

Since taking over Chateau de Valois in 1996, Frédéric Leydet has produced some of the best Pomerol wines, carrying on his father's reputation.
