On the Bages plateau, a narrow country road divides the vines of Haut-Bages Libéral and Château Latour, with the vineyards of Pichon Baron abutting the other half.

The vineyards, which are covered in gravel, have a beautiful view of the Gironde. Bernadette Villars purchased the farm in 1982, and now her daughter, Claire, is in charge overall, producing excellent wines and converting the land to organic and biodynamic viticulture.
