The Chateau la Tessoniere vineyards in Civrac-en-Médoc and Bégadan were purchased by the Chevreux family, who were originally from St. Aubin de Blaye, at the start of the previous century.
Alphonse Chevreux founded the Château la Tessonnière at this time. Given that the land was covered with badger burrows, he chose to model the château after the word 'Tessoun,' which used to represent that in Gascon dialect.
The Chateau la Tessoniere was taken over by Cédric Colemyn, the fifth generation of winemakers and great-grandson of founder Alphonse Chevreux, in 1995. He offered a dynamic vision and made investments in the vines after studying viticulture and oenology, which led to the Cru Artisan title.
The vineyard has been certified as HVE Level 3 and is responsibly farmed.
Made by the 5th generation of winemakers, this is a classically styled Bordeaux wine that is marked by fine blackcurrant and raspberry fruits with a touch of graphite
