In the French commune of Saint-Estèphe, Château Phélan Ségur is located next to the vines Château Calon-Ségur and Château Montrose. It was one of nine Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnels in the Cru Bourgeois classification revision of 2003.[1]

Since 1986, a second wine has been made under the Frank Phelan brand. La Croix Bonis wine is a more recent endeavour.
