Chateau Ste Michelle's roots extend back to the repeal of Prohibition, since it was built on the 1912 estate of Seattle timber baron Frederick Stimson.

Ste. Michelle Vintners was launched in 1967 by famed winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff as a new brand of premium vinifera wines.

In 2019 Chateau Ste Michelle celebrated more than 50 years of winemaking experience. Since then, they've blended Old World winemaking traditions with New World creativity. In fact, Chateau Ste. Michelle is one of the world's few premium wineries with two cutting-edge wineries, one for red and one for white. The whites are produced at the Chateau in Woodinville, Washington, and the reds are produced at our Canoe Ridge Estate winery in Eastern Washington.
