The two-hectare estate Clos Clare is run by Tom and Sam Barry, the great-grandsons of Clare Valley pioneer Jim Barry and is renowned for its dry Rieslings.

The Riesling vines were replanted on a soil mix of limestone and red clay with some slate deposits in the middle of the vineyard, which is a 70-year-old vineyard in the Clare Valley sub-region of Watervale.

Tom and Sam Barry, two winemakers, have both worked at Jim Barry Wines as well as in Germany, Austria, and Italy.
