Domaine Chante Cigale Wines from Great Wines Direct
The Sabon Favier family has owned and run Domaine Chante Cigale, a winery in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape village, for numerous decades.
The vineyard, which has 102 acres of land designated as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, produces wines that are regarded as traditional, excellently made, and fairly priced Châteauneufs.
Recently, Christian Favier the father handed the reigns over to his son, Alexandre, who is quickly emerging as Châteauneuf-du-Pape's newest rising star. Even though he is just in his thirties, respected journalists have praised him, including Jancis Robinson of the UK.
Despite Chateauneuf's reputation for producing red wine, the region also produces highly regarded white wines. In comparison to other Châteauneuf producers, the Domaine Chante Cigale produces five times as much white wine, and their Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc has received numerous gold awards in Orange and Paris
