Domaine Gayrard, located on a limestone plateau in the foothills of the Causses de Quercy, has stood as a symbol of this extraordinary terroir for almost five centuries.

Maurice Gayrard began producing wines on the land in the 1950s, becoming one of the first producers to bottle wine in Gaillac. The estate went through a brief period of cereal cultivation in the 1990s, but in 2013, Pierre and Laure Fabre returned to their ancestor's land and restored it to a vineyard, replanting indigenous varieties.

The previous Château Moussans' grapes were merged into the estate in 2018, introducing older vines from a different terroir. The estate now covers more than 30 hectares and has been certified organic since 2020.
