Gilles ROBIN's great-grandfather, Louis PASQUION, acquired the first parcels in 1920, totaling 1.27 acres. He wanted to make wine for himself, so he set out to do that. Being a wine enthusiast, he chose this first plot's terroir without hesitation because the grapes from this vine, in good and outstanding years, are of a quality that rivals the best Hermitages.
Gilles Robin, who was born in 1972, has always assisted his father in the vineyard job. Syrah is his preferred variety, and the vine has always been his greatest love.
Following his oenology studies in Montpellier, he moved to vinify for a wine estate in Haute-Savoie for three years. While there, he gave wine farms advice on how to acquire experiences that are complementary to their own.
Three generations have been committed to the passion of Syrah and the craft of mixing terroirs, and in 1996, Michel, at 24 years old, handed the torch to Gilles.
Wonderful loganberry aroma on the nose, or deeply intense raspberry and black cherry, after which exotic spice and freesia scents become apparent Beautifully fresh and expressive in the mouth; medium-bodied and rounded with present but understated tannin and acidity This is so delicious that it will inevitably be consumed straight awaybut should you forget about few bottles, they will age beautifully for at least another 5-6 years
