Yiannis Boutaris, a significant figure in the Greek wine industry, formed Kir-Yianni in 1997 after leaving the Boutari Wine Group, a premium family wine company founded by his grandfather in 1879.

Today, Stellios Boutaris, a member of the fifth generation of winemakers, leads Kir-Yianni into the next chapter of its history by dynamically leveraging the Kir-Yianni philosophy's cornerstones: desire for innovation, respect for tradition, and true knowledge of the wine, from the grape to the end consumer.
