Geoff McIver founded the Lomond wines estate in 1999. It is located on the Agulhas Plain at Cape Agulhas, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans converge, eight kms from the fishing community of Gansbaai, and within sight of the ocean.

The Ben Lomond Mountain in the Uilenkraal Valley serves as the inspiration for the estate's name. Hannes Meyer, a multi-award-winning winemaker, joined the group and expertly creates a range of exquisite wines from this premier winegrowing region, some of which are named after the local flora known as "Fynbos."

Up to 18 different soil types, which naturally occur in small pockets along the hillsides and yield intriguingly diverse wines with flavour profiles that diverge dramatically from one block to another another, are used to plant the vines.

Excellent single-vineyard wines are produced by the Lomond Wine estate thanks to its terroir, climate, and position. The vineyard is sustainably farmed, and Lomond is a part of the Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy, Wine & Agricultural Ethical Trade Association, and Integrated Production of Wine (IPW) in South Africa.
