Jean Batlle spent time in the vineyards as a child, learning the trade from his father. He bought the Mas de Lavail in 1999, which is situated in the lovely Maury appellation in a valley between the Pyrenees and the Corbières Mountains.

In his 95-hectare estate, Jean has been relentless in his pursuit of excellence. He is passionate, enthusiastic, and careful.

Nowadays, Jean is joined by his son Nicolas, and the two of them work together to cultivate their family estate, making luxurious wines with a complex scent.
