The grandson of a winemaker, Thierry Rodriguez, always wanted to make his own wines, so in 1997 he purchased his first vineyard plots in the Faugères appellation.

The appellation, which is located in the Cévennes' slopes and is encircled by lovely garrigue, is well known for its exceptional schistous soils. Thierry oversees the vineyard with meticulous care and attention. He is demanding, meticulous, and perfectionist.

To completely reflect the terroir of the Faugères, the vines produce naturally low yields of about 25 hectolitres per hectare of gorgeous, robust berries that ripen at their ideal maturity. Simple use of sensible farming methods and practises that protect the environment; the estate is HVE certified.

Mas Gabinèle gets its name from the Occitan phrase "unà gabinelà," which refers to the traditional wine-maker's huts located in the vineyards.
