Carlo Cottini established the Cottini family business in 1925 to grow fruit trees and vines. However, the company significantly advanced in the 1950s when Raffaello, Carlo's son, took charge and concentrated solely on viticulture.

Diego Cottini, a third-generation winemaker, founded Monte Zovo in 1990 and became its head winemaker. Their family's estate, Le Civaie, is in the charming Northern Italian area of Lugana.

Two distinct regions of the Lugana D.O. are covered by the vineyards: Desenzano and Pozzolengo municipalities.

The estate has received certifications from Equalitas, SQNPI, and "Biodiversity Friend" for its sustainable farming practices.
