One of the first commercial vineyards in the UK, New Hall Wine Estate was founded by Bill and Sheila Greenwood in 1969 and its vines were planted in Purleigh. Since Purleigh is one of the hottest and sunniest places in the nation and is perfect for quality viticulture, the vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate.

The New Hall Wine Estate features one of the largest plantings of Bacchus in the UK, 49 hectares of vines, and a stunning new estate winery. The third generation currently controls the family-owned estate.

The young, energetic, and globally seasoned team continues the family legacy of cultivating the grapes from the vine to the glass to produce award-winning wines that best represent English Wine.

The original vineyards were established at Purleigh, Essex, a region rich in viticultural history, where they thrived and supplied The Crown during the Middle Ages.
