The Ormarine Cellars' history extends back a century to 1922, when a group of Pinet winegrowers banded together in a spirit of camaraderie to organise a winegrowers organisation with the goal of raising the calibre of the area's white wine output.
Picpoul de Pinet received recognition in 1985 when it was designated as an AOC. The Ormarine Cellars pioneered the way by creating light, energising wines with a focus on fruit from this popular appellation.
The vineyards of Pinet, a location rich in history, first gained recognition during Roman times when the Via Domitia passed through them. In 1618, the renowned botanist JB Magnol cited the Piquepoul variety in his book Sylve Plantarium.
