The family-owned estate Domaine Chermette is located near Saint-Vérand, in the Golden Stone region of the Rhone (south of Beaujolais).
Martine, Jean-Etienne and Pierre-Marie Chermette actively participate in the development of genuine, premium wines by fusing tradition and innovation.
The portfolio includes white, red, and Beaujolais rosé wine, as well as hand-crafted fruit liqueurs like cassis and vine peach with ginger and crus including Brouilly, Fleurie, Moulin-à-Vent, Saint-Amour, and Crémants de Bourgogne.
The Vissoux family originated in the hamlet of Le Vissoux in Saint-Vérand in the 17th century. With a wonderful southwest exposure, it is the centre of the estate and is surrounded by a sizable 9 hectare plot.
Here, the soil is granite, as opposed to the primarily clay-limestone topography of the southern Beaujolais region. It is the preferred soil for the Gamay grape and is comparable to that of Beaujolais Villages. This peculiarity contributes to the estate's Beaujolais wines' increased structure, including Beaujolais des Griottes and Beaujolais. Old vineyards with a white Beaujolais component are the source.
"Wild cherry aroma Dry with bright acidity, a beautiful naturalness to the fruit and some tannic grip to go with food A serious and long-lived Beaujolais "
Youthfully light cherry in colour, offering red stone fruit on the nose The fruit is very stylishly extracted, generous, ripe and not shackled by too much tannin The acidity is an integral part of the palate, keeping those cherry fruits juicy!
