A prominent and well-known producer in the Côtes de Nuits is Pierre Naigeon. For more than 150 years, the Naigeon family has been a part of Gevrey-Chambertin. In 1890, they bought some vines and began making wine.

The estate remained very modestly sized until 2003, when Pierre added to his land holdings, bringing their total to 11.5 hectares.

Without the use of pesticides, sustainable farming is something Pierre Naigeon is fervently committed to. He favours non-interventionist winemaking and seeks to make fragrant wines that showcase the land in its unaltered state.

His vineyards have an astonishingly high average age, usually over 50 years, which gives the wines an exceptional quality, maturity, and concentration.
