The Pinino estate has a long history of producing wine. By the notary Tito Costanti, the original estate was constructed in Montalcino in 1874.

As one of the original wine farms in Montalcino, Pinino was then added to the Brunello Winemakers Register almost a century later, in 1950.

The Vineyard was purchased by its current owners in December 2003. The friends couples Andrea and Hannes Gamon and Silvia and Max Hernandez quickly rebuilt the wine estate into a crown jewel that produces world-class wines.

Pinino is situated to the north of Montalcino, built into the stunning and well-known Montosoli mountainside like a natural amphitheatre.

The wealthy of Montalcino were previously drawn to this special geographic site, which is currently regarded as one of the best places in the area for wine production.

Sangiovese grapes are the only source used by Pinino to make Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Rosso di Montalcino DOC. These vineyards are located in two different Montalcino locales.

The 'Consorzio del Brunello' has tight rules for cultivation, vinification, and ageing. Additionally, only exceptional vintages result in the production of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva wines.
