After moving to Napa Valley in 1933, the Raymond family married into the Beringer family in 1936. From 1933 through 1970, Roy served as winemaker for Beringer. In 1970, he and his two sons left Beringer and started their own winery on a 90-acre estate near Rutherford.

In 1974, they distributed their first bottle of wine under the Raymond Vineyards brand, and they haven't looked back since. The Raymonds invested a lot of time, effort, and a pioneering spirit into their winery and their commitment has contributed to Raymond Vineyards becoming an iconic Napa Valley landmark.

The prestigious Boisset Collection from Burgundy is now intertwined with the family line. Raymond Vineyards is yet another winery that Jean-Charles Boisset has advanced to new heights.

While Vineyard Manager Sophie Drucker converted the estate vineyards to organic and Biodynamic® farming practises, a characteristic of Boisset Collection holdings globally, the winery hired seasoned Napa Valley Winemaker Stephanie Putnam to manage winemaking. With a focus on teaching customers and giving them a venue to foster a passion for wine, the winery has also remodelled its tasting area and launched a variety of additional tourist services.

Through these initiatives, Raymond Vineyards will have a bright future that will make it one of the iconic sites in the Napa Valley for many years to come.
