This classy, rare and very special rose has much in common with Provence Cru Classe It comes from a tiny vineyard of old Grenache vines in hills overlooking the Mediterranean, above the seaside village of Portofino on the Italian Riviera It has a pretty rose-tinted peach colour, and a mellow bouquet of red apples and honey The palate is dry, fresh and soft-textured, with hints of wild strawberry and nectarine, a juicy, rounded personality and a long, fresh finish There are only 41 hectares of vines in Portofino, meaning that these wines are very hard to find
