Neal and Judy Ibbotson, owners of St Clair, are viticulture pioneers in Marlborough, New Zealand. It was in 1978 that Judy planted her first vineyard, with the assistance of three preschoolers and a group of ladies, which was one of the first vineyards within the Marlborough region.

Since then Neal and Judy have understood a great deal about viticulture and recognise the true importance of understanding the process involved in winemaking from start to the final product.

Jarrah Prior is head viticulturist at St Clair, who has a wealth of experience within winemaking and viticulture. St Clair Family Estate utilise a mixture of grapes sourced locally from nearby estates combined with fruit from their own, high end estate grown vineyards.

Jarrah shares the Saint Clair's values and his viticulture expertise with the contract growers offering added incentives to growers who provide exceptional quality fruit. This way, quality and excellence are upheld to the standards demanded by the winery.
