Mme Evelyne Courriades and M. François George created SAVAS in 1975. However, the voyage had already started ten years earlier with the opening of 'Le Caveau des Capucins,' a Cash & Carry located in Bordeaux's Capucins Market.

The business developed awareness among wholesalers and a few significant retailers over time and via varied interactions. They actually started implementing a plan to dominate the French retail business in 2001. Savas significantly shifted its focus towards the foreign market in 1992, assisted by a group of enthusiastic young salespeople.
