Tahbilk is one of the most stunning and storied family-owned wineries in Australia, having been founded in 1860.

Located in one of the top viticultural regions in the country, the Nagambie Lakes region of central Victoria (120 km north of Melbourne). The property has a frontage of 11 km to the Goulburn River, 1,214 hectares of lush river flats, and 8 km of perennial streams and backwaters.

Tahbilk has been owned by the Purbrick family for five generations as of 1925 and for them, the river and the land are where the tale of Tahbilk Winery begins. The Daung-wurrung clans, the original inhabitants, called this place tabilk-tabilk, which means "place of many waterholes" and properly fits the topography.
